LAURA’S CURATED KITCHEN

Traditional recipes with a modern flavor from Lauras Curated Kitchen

Hi there, in Laura’s Curated Kitchen, I have brought together my list of favorite recipes. These are tried and true and some are even family recipes handed down from generation to generation. I am always adding new and exciting creations so keep an eye out for anything new that pops up.

I love cooking, I find it relaxing and it’s my chance to be creative. So I wanted a place where I could share some of my recipes with my community. Food, wine, friends and the times when we can laugh ourselves silly are some of the best times in my life and when we get to be at our best.

I love pairing food with different beverages, including beers, wines, and ciders. And of course there is always other liqueurs and other pre and post meal drinks including scotch!! Some of the best wines I have had are here. I have been to some amazing wine pairings in my time from France, to Israel, and Hungary, and so many other countries including the US and Canada. It’s a great way to enjoy the finer things in life that I enjoy and I want to spread that joy to others. The more we know and learn, the better we can be in our lives and how we interact with others.

So many options of delicious food to pair with fine wine

Some of the best recipes I have are the simplest and most tasty. Traditional things like my Grandmothers, Mac and Cheese or her Beef Stew were staples when we were growing up. Some of our family heritage was Mennonite, so we would have amazing meals made from simple ingredients that tasted delicious. I realize now how spoiled I was as a child. What are some of your favorite Recipes?

I think we can never have enough variety in what we eat and drink, and using different combinations to compliment each other. This can elevate that experience to the next level no matter what your experience. I love wine and other beverages and its always a treat when I get to try different taste combinations.

Cheese – So Much Variety – Too Little Time

Once of my favorite combinations is a cheese and wine tasting and I have posted a page about the different cheese and wine pairings. Remember, your taste is the perfect taste so whichever wine you enjoy with your cheese is the one for you.

One of my favorites, well I have a few, is really old cheddar – the kind with the calcium nodes in it, triple cream brie and creamy beemster – those Dutch cheeses are just delicious. What’s your favorite?
