We got these Rules were from Michael Silva over a Zoom Call. Word for Word. This is seriously going to blow your mind. Call the fam, call the buds. Get the Girls together. And just play because you don’t want to miss this!
GAME RULES:
- Setup the chairs 40 feet apart (suggested based on skill). If you are PRO’s, don’t be whimps, move them out a bit more.
- Teammates play for the same side. Play 1 on 1 and up to 4 on 4. You can stack the sides as you see fit. Like 1 on left, 3 on right as an example. Maintaining at least 1 on each side for 2 or more sized teams.
THE FOOTBALL GAME SCORING:
Throw into basket for Touchdown 6 points
Throw and hit any part of the chair, including the uprights is 3 points (Completion)
DEFENSE: If the defending team catches the ball after the bounce (must hit the chair first – and cannot be a caused deflection by the defense) they can take a knee for 3 points. Or risk it and return the ball back. If they return the ball, the Defense can come to play and where they 2 hand touch are downed they get to throw the ball towards the chair for points. 1 Attempt.
If playing 2 on 2, 3 on 3, or 4 on 4 the Offense and Defense can come to play. Blocking or lateral pitches are in play.
SCORING A TOUCHDOWN:
Kick the ball from the T. If you get through the uprights its 1 point. If it lands in the bucket its called a “FITZ”. And it is instant WIN for the kicking team. GAME OVER.
If the KICK is wide right or wide left, it becomes in play. Defense can catch and return. (Same rules for Interception Return above).
WINNING TEAM: Must score 54 points to win. Once a team hits 54 points, they have to win by 2 points. Once hitting winning amount, the other team (if within 7 points)
HAIL MARY:
If you are under by more than 8 points. You can step back equal to the number of points that you are behind. If you make it into the bucket, you win.
This incredible tailgating game was created by Mike and Frank Silva. The Silva Brothers. These guys have a great sense of humor and the have a definite passion for this awesome twist to Football. So we cannot thank them enough because the fun that this brings is endless. The high quality, and solid built, will last forever. HOW IT ALL BEGAN – THE FOOTBALL GAME
The Michael and Frank Silva are 3 years apart and they are the creators of QB54. This is a game that is fast becoming the household must have game. And what they used to do was, they would play after every Thanksgiving Dinner. So they would set up 2 garbage cans (one at each end of the backyard) at a distance that each other could throw. They would throw the ball into the can at the opposite end of the yard to make a point and the first one who scored 54 would be the winner. How they came up with the number 54 came out of thin air. Sometimes neighbors would come over and play with them for the fun of it and ended up being there for hours. Because that’s what neighbours do!
This is a riot! Not to mention the best Turkey Ball for everyone because this is some incredible, portable fun. So make your football game a part of your turkey dinner and see how much fun you can have wearing off that big meal. Because Thanksgiving only comes once a year but the football game can be used for endless fun as often as you want.
